Format
The 2024 Sinquefield Cup is a nine-player single round-robin. The time control is 120 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment per move.
Grand Chess Tour Format
The 2024 Grand Chess Tour consists of three rapid and blitz events and two classical events. Nine full participants play both classical events and at least two rapid and blitz events, while “wildcard” players can be invited to any of the other events. Players compete in each event for prize money and Grand Chess Tour points, with additional prize money going to players according to their final tour standings.
