This is video #6 from the “Beginner to Chess Master” playlist. Oh how popular the 4 move checkmate is! Nearly every chess player has had it played against them. But is it really any good? Presented is how you can ‘try’ to checkmate in 4 moves, and also how to defend against it in a convenient way. Shared also are a couple important tips that’ll help us to stay in a good frame of mind while playing.
Beginner to Chess Master Playlist:
I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. What if they move the pawn to kill queen
I tried the 4 move check against a computer. Didn't work even on the easiest level.
That is a very smart way how to checkmate the person I will try and see if that can work πππ
After you killed pawn β the queen check the king .
My question is Can the king now kill the queen?
Please answer it.
T H R O B B I N G
Pawn at c3 lmao horse canβt attack if you put em previously
Thanks
Thank you
Tqππ
I make new accounts and destroy noobs with this techniqueπππ. This never gets old
This video is ancient and I am a low 500 but isnβt e4 Bc4 a better start for the scholars mate? If they play anything other than Kf6 then Qg5.
If he or she doesn't move there
"Hope chess"
I like that.
Alright, Hikaru bot ur dead
watched three minutes of this video, went to try it out, ended up getting black, and got checkmated in 3 moves. Not exactly a scholar's mate but same principle in that the bishop protects the queen as she goes in for the kill.
fuck.
What if I'm playing an idiot, is ok to attempt considering a high chance of recovery?
The game is not over.the king can move friend
Who came from the queens gambit???
i hate this mate.
The Scholars mate is one of the deadliest openings in chess. Even if you don't get the mate in 4 moves, you are still well attacking and on the front foot. If black moves Knight to either f6 or h6 to defend, you can either capture it with opening your c1 bishop, forcing a double pawn on them, or pin it against the Queen.
Either way, you will always come out of this with a checkmate or at least one Knight which is a huge blow so early on
great teaching videos!
On online chess the board is different, the king and queen swap sides. So queen is where king is on the opposite side
great video, man! I enjoyed
i am a new and did this in a tournament and let's just say it did not go as planned…….
You're supposed to mate them? I just take middle pawn, they have to defend king with either queen or most likely Bishop and then I decimate their Rook, Knight and pawns due to no diagonal
Basically this only works on a complete novice. Itβs fun, and is a good teaching tool for black to develop their defence. Proper defence of F7 is a very important concept, and if you somehow fool a novice/beginner with this then itβs a great teaching tool for them, cause you know theyβll never let it happen again LOL.
i hate these "mate in a couple of moves" videos because they NEVER WORK. Reasons are:
They teach how to defend against it. this means everyone who watches these knows how to defend.
The opponent will NEVER EVER play the correct moves. I try this and the moves that Martin does (yes i tried against martin) will always be blocking my bishop from the c4 square, or attacking my queen.
Great video. Keep it up
Just bring the first pawn out one vs 2 and itβs defended
just learning it to piss off my siblings who are bad at chess.
shut up
Scholar's mate got me from 800 to 900 lol, even fooled my cousin who is really good at the game with this tactic
Thanks it's will help me in the contest next week π and I'm a grade 4 and my opponent is a grade 6 so I'm afraid of losing so…. Thanks it will help me
Iβm not very good but I seem to have better luck using the Queen as a defender during the opening and middlegame, then use her on offense in the endgame when she has more space.
Just mated my opponent in 9 moves the checkmate was the same but the opening wasnβt
What happens if pawn goes g6 @1:29
Its funny cause I never knew this was the 4-move check mate til now but Ive defended against this every time with that pawn.
all fun and games until the enemy plays knight h6 attacking the queen when the queen takes the pawn on f7
The Sicilian Defense is great counter to the Scholars mate!!! learned that painfully lol
Someone did this to me and now im here to get my revenge
Why is this the first video to scholars mate lol, this guy sounds just like my third grade teacher
I bet Nelson was here
thank you. appreciate the thorough go-thru of that
Ive done it how havent you?
thank you! iβve got a chess tournament tomorrow and this is something i need to know to be able to go
this never helped me
i legit watched the first 2 minutes of this video and just won a match with the exact same scenario presented. thanks for the +9 rating lmao.
Edit : it worked twice in a row and on my third match he prevented early but after bringing out my other bishop I won on my 8th move. Thanks alot
Love you Jerry <3 Just destroyed my friend in chess grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Most overused opening in chess:
I've always known this as "Fool's Mate."
I did this without knowing that it was already a thing I thought I was a genius but I did it on my brother and won like three time in a rowπ
