Magnus Carlsen was only 13 years old here.
Prince of Chess directed and produced by Øyvind Von Doren Asbjørnsen. See the whole film here: . This was at the Reykjavic Rapid 2004 tournament where some of the world’s best players competed.
A rapid game between the past and future world champion? 2 of the worlds greatest players indeed. I wonder what would happen if they were to play now.
Interesting that sometime after this, Kasparov started coaching Carlsen for a while.
Gg
comments show yet again people have no idea what they are talking about yet they will scream it XD
Magnus at 13 – International Master
Praggnanandha at 12 – Grand Master
3:16 🤣🤣
I want to meet whoever has shot this whole thing 😂😂😂
For some reason Kids are better than adults at Video games and I guess that applies to Chess in some way. It's as if the child's mind is more creative. Counter Strike is the best example. It's been around since 1999 so you'd think someone who's played for 20 years would be the best but the best player for the past decade has been s1mple and he was like 16 when he took the reign. Soon another youngster will take his spot if they haven't already. Even in Counter Strike they'll use the words "past his prime" as if it's basketball.
Kasparov could have won with his time advantage but the risk of losing was maybe to high 😅
A 50 yt old man getting his shit fucked by a 13 yr old kid is absolutely hilarious and what's more hilarious is the background music. Straight out of a movie 😂😂😂😂
Rewatching the video after Magnus becomes a world champion
The lion 🦁😂
2:14 this is we’re he leaned
Ya entiendo porque Carlsen actualmente también toca todas sus piezas antes de empezar partida. Xd
MAANGNUS is the new meta 💀
and today he is a world champion!
Howcome Magnus Carlsen's chess career isn't a series already?
Top 3 chess players ever:
1) Magnus
2) Drunk Magnus
3) Kid Magnus
This young lad Magnus seems to have some talent. If he keeps practicing on a regular basis he might win against IMs once in a while or, with some luck, against GMs if they blunder. All the best for your future, young boy!
Why do those with such amazing, beautiful gifts very often turn out to be some of the most arrogant of people?
Kasparov underestimated him for be a kid? what do you think?
I don’t think we will ever see anyone like him his general intelligence is also great
3:17 bored Magnus.

The legacy of magnus starts here
Grate rapid game!
Backsound name?
I bet that destroyed Kasparovs ego.
3:50 me when I'm in a losing position against a kid with "2010" at the end of his username, realising it's his birth year, and wondering where it all went so wrong for me
Except unlike Kasporov I don't even find the draw
Partida história
Agnus adjusted his pieces before kasparov arrived.
He was look like idiot
Not to spoil anything because I like Magnus now, but Kasparov did manage to beat him in the 2nd and 3rd games…
Kasparov won the second game in 21 moves and Carlsen went home.
BRO THE DISRESPECT OF HIM JUST STANDIN UP CUZ HE BORED 😂
3:00 Yellow Pepsi?
Adult vs teen
now I know why magnus is late in most games, he learned it from kasparov
“Shows up late, let’s his opponent start then fixes his pieces” seems exactly like magnus wtf

Ce gamin a le potentiel d’être très bon
This Magnus kid looks like he has great potential, maybe he should play professionally and become a grandmaster someday.
